American Ash is a light-colored hardwood from North America known for its excellent shock resistance, toughness, and strength, making it ideal for items like baseball bats, tool handles, furniture, and flooring. It has a typically straight, coarse grain with a uniform texture and works well with tools, steam bending, and finishing. The heartwood can be brown to yellowish, while the sapwood is paler, and common natural characteristics include light brown mineral flecks.
